Lillebælt Hospital, Kolding, 2016.
Site specific wall painting.
Seeking to create a universe that embraces each individual, Kirstine drew inspiration from the cycles of the seasons, the rhythm of day and night, and the journey from childhood to adulthood. The result is an abstract landscape of forms, colors, and figures, open to personal interpretation and reflection.
This vision extends into the reception area's décor, where walls and floors feature soft, dusty reddish tones that guide visitors into the waiting room, where the palette shifts to gentle greens and rosy hues. The subtle transitions in color are designed to ease navigation and create a calming, welcoming atmosphere.
Natural sounds and wooden elements are also integrated into the design. In place of traditional door openers, wooden balls of various sizes and colors float in the air, serving as tactile nodes. Kalimbas, placed at certain points, invite passersby and guests to play soothing melodies, creating a simple, tranquil soundscape that enhances the peaceful environment.
