Kirstine is concerned with many matters around the world and keeps herself updated through newspapers and texts on the internet, among other things. Here she gets inspiration for her diverse, impactful and often humorous works. She often uses "feminine" techniques and materials such as yarn, embroidery, sequins and fabric (and puts them together to make impactful political comments). Roepstorff is also interested in treasure chests, and in the National Museum she exhibited her own works together with objects she picked from other local museums and collections. The book is published in collaboration between the Museum für Gegenwartskunst Basel and the National Museum, on the occasion of Kirstine Roepstorff's 2010-11 exhibitions in these museums.
